This May, as part of Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re challenging you to commit to taking a minimum of 20 minutes away from your desk and your emails over lunchtime.
Grab lunch with colleagues, go for a walk outside, sign up for a lunchtime yoga or gym class. The world is your oyster! The only rule is to step away from your desk for at least 20 minutes and leave your work and emails behind.
Why should I take part?
Breaks are a vital part of any working day, and research has shown that taking regular breaks could boost your performance as well as helping you relax, recharge and stay focussed.
Sign up and you'll receive daily tips on how to tackle workplace stress during the week.
You’ll also be asked to complete a short well-being survey before you start the challenge and then again at the end of the week. Our data gurus will then crunch your numbers and we'll let you know if taking a lunchbreak each day has helped boost your mood and/or productivity. We'll also provide you with some advice and tips for maintaining your wellbeing in the workplace.
It's a no brainer!
How do I take part?
1. You can take part as an individual but it'll be more fun if you get your whole team or office involved
2. Download our e-signature below and add it to your email footer to let people know you’re taking part. Simply click to open the image and then right click to download to your computer
3. Block out the time in your diary in advance - if people book meetings over lunch, suggest that you turn it into a ‘walk and talk’ meeting outside of the office
It couldn't be easier! Sign up and pay to take part below. The £20 entry fee is a donation to MQ to help fund life-changing mental health research. Happy lunching!
