Could you commit to taking at least 30 minutes away from your desk and your emails over lunchtime to help fund life-changing mental health research?
We’re daring you to try!
Grab lunch with colleagues, go for a walk outside, sign up for a lunchtime yoga or gym class. The world is your oyster! The only rule is to step away from your desk for at least 30 minutes and leave your work and emails behind.
Why should I take part?
Are you guilty of hastily chowing down a sandwich whilst frantically writing emails at your desk? Can’t remember the last time you took a proper lunch break away from your desk? You’re not alone. A fifth of workers in the UK say they don’t leave their desk at all during lunch breaks. But this trend is not good for us.
It’s time to reclaim the lunch break!
Breaks are a vital part of any working day, and research has shown that taking regular breaks could boost your performance as well as helping you relax, recharge and stay focussed.
Not convinced? By completing a short well-being survey before you start the challenge and then again at the end of the week, we’ll be able to let you know if taking a lunch break each day has helped boost your mood and/or productivity. Arming you with information to help you make positive changes to your office habits.
You’ll also receive daily tips on how to tackle workplace stress during the week.
It's a no brainer!
How do I take part?
Taking part couldn't be easier! Just complete the form below to sign up and pay the £20 entry fee. The entry fee is a donation to MQ to help fund life-changing mental health research.
You can take part on your own but it’ll be more fun to get the rest of your team or office involved, so why not encourage them to join you in reclaiming the lunch break?
