What is a Fellowship

The EMDRIA-MQ Foundation Research Fellowship Program supports brilliant early-career scientists studying EMDR therapy for PTSD and depression in Canada, the USA and Mexico. The aim is to grow and retain top talent and increase diversity within the field of EMDR research.

$400,000 is available per Fellowship’ along with a package of support over three years.

Applications open December 2026

The application window to submit expressions of interest for the 2027 EMDRIA-MQ Foundation Research Fellowship Program will open on the 3rd of December 2026 and will close on the 15th of March 2027.

  • Open to applications from researchers based in Canada, the USA and Mexico.
  • The project must be focused on Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for PTSD and/or depression
  • Must be a researcher with 3-7 years of postdoctoral experience
  • Need to be based at a university, hospital, or research institution.
  • Demonstrate a strong research track record and plans for an independent career.
  • The fellowship requires a 50-100% time commitment over three years.
