Coronavirus (COVID-19): information for grant applicants and grantholders

MQ is committed to supporting our grantholders and those applying for grants during this uncertain period. This page provides an update on key operational issues around our research funding.  

MQ Operations

Following UK government guidance, all MQ staff are now working from home until further notice. All staff have the necessary tools to continue to support our grantholders and we hope you will not notice too much interruption in service.

MQ-funded research

We emphasise that all MQ grantholders must continue to comply with local and institutional directives and advice. We recognise that closure of institutions, restrictions on research participation, and the need for clinical staff to prioritise frontline service duties, will have profound implications for all research, including that funded by MQ.

Applying for MQ Funding

The MQ Fellows Awards remains open for applications and we are maintaining the original timetable as far as possible, recognising that this may need to change in the coming weeks and months. Should there be any changes to the timetable outlined in the applicant guidance document, we will communicate with applicants by email.

The deadline for receipt of applications remains Friday 3rd April 2020.  If an applicant’s institution is closed and they are unable to get their application approved by the Head of Department and submitted, MQ can do this on their behalf, with the express permission of the institution and receipt of the supporting documentation. Institutions should email grants@mqmentalhealth.org to confirm their agreement ahead of 3rd April 2020.
