We Are Investing For the Next Generation

75% of mental health conditions develop before adulthood, yet despite this, relatively little has been invested in research on children and young people’s mental health.

At MQ, we are working to change that! We invest in research across neuroscience, psychology and social sciences, while supporting early-career researchers to improve understanding, treatment and prevention of mental illness, especially for children and young people.

By investing in research, we can better understand how and why mental illnesses develop. We can also improve treatments and interventions so that children are better supported, and ultimately find ways of preventing mental illnesses altogether so that children and young people can grow up to lead happier, healthier lives.
