Experiences of being gender nonconforming in childhood

In childhood, did you sometimes act in a way that was not typical for your gender?

This study is looking for participants to find out about their experiences of being gender non-conforming in childhood, how people reacted to this, and whether their  experiences had any impact on their psychological wellbeing.

The study is aiming to find out more about what factors protected or led to difficulties for participants in developing mental health difficulties.

The study will consist of an online screening survey, with selected participants taking part in a 45-90 minute interview in person at King's College, Denmark Hill or over the phone.

We are looking for:

Participants who:

  • are aged 18-24
  • identify as being gender nonconforming in childhood for at least six months

  • London
  • Online/home-based

Participants will be compensated £20 for their time, if selected for interview. If the interview takes place over the phone, this will be in the form of Amazon vouchers.
