This research study led by a team at Aston University and the LPT Trust is looking at how physical healthcare can be improved for those with mental ill health.
The research involves one semi-structured interview which will take place over the phone or in person in Leicester (if possible depending on location). The duration of this is 45-60 minutes approximately.
We are looking for:
- are service users
- have a diagnosis of severe mental illness
- are over18 years old
- have the capacity to consent
- Care professionals
- individuals who have direct contact with those that have severe mental illness
- informal carers of service users recruited to the study
Recruitment is focusing on those from BAME backgrounds and primary care staff (GPs, community pharmacists, nurses).

Participants will be reimbursed all reasonable travel and out of pocket expenses if the participant has to travel to take part. All service users and their carers will be offered a gift voucher of around £10 as a gesture of good will. Care professionals will only be offered a gift voucher of around £10 if they take part in their own time (not within work time) .
