A declaration of commitment to research

by | 8 Apr 2026

MQ was founded to improve mental health research and connect the public with scientists working to find solutions for the 1 in 4 of us impacted by mental illness.

Since our founding we have invested over £30 million in research, all around the world. But this is just a drop in the ocean of what is needed.

Today, we are proud to be partnering with Rethink Mental Illness and many other fantastic organisations to commit to improve mental health research.

Specifically, we are committing to support:

Champion mental health research as a vital part of health and social care.

Empower people with lived experience to lead and shape research.

Challenge Inequalities

Built trust, transparency and collaboration across the sector.

Make sure research leads to better care, better outcomes and healthier lives.
