About the race
The Zurich Marató Barcelona is one of the most popular in Europe and the greatest athletics event in the Catalan capital. The new route is designed to be more city-focused, faster, and showcase popular tourist attractions than previous races. Travel through the streets of beautiful Barcelona in this iconic marathon, the race will start on Passeig de Gràcia and end at the Arc de Triomf, passing through at least 15 iconic Barcelona landmarks. Experience the city’s vibrant atmosphere and catch glimpses of famed landmarks, all while running with thousands of other participants and making amazing memories in this unforgettable spring race.
About the route
The new route for the Zurich Marató Barcelona starts on Passeig de Gràcia and finishes at the Arc de Triomf, passing through several iconic landmarks in Barcelona, including the Monumental, Casa Batlló, Sagrada Familia, and Plaça Catalunya. The route is designed to be more central, faster, and showcase popular tourist attractions, with a total positive elevation of only 30 meters and 33 turns.
Every 5 km along the race route there will be a refreshment stand offering water, isotonic drinks, vaseline, fruit and sponges.
